Anxiety and Panic Attacks

If you have had anxiety and panic attacks too then you are probably familiar with the feeling of dread that faces you at many times in your life. It is the feeling that at any point you may have an attack and lose control of your self. And in an attempt to try and deal with it we often spend our time consciously trying to avoid having an attack.

This can be done in many ways such as talking to yourself internally and try to calm yourself down or simply by avoiding all situations where you feel you may be under stress. As I have come to understand though, the more you do this the more you push yourself towards an attack.

While feeling anxious about a panic attack you push your anxiety levels sky high and as long as you are in that place you are moving ever closer to an attack. Thankfully there are ways to deal with this and they are fairly simple as long as you are willing to give them your time.

I was amazed to find out how much fear places a part in the problem. Actually feeling that constant fear whenever you step outside your comfort zone is a trigger for an attack or even just a strong feeling of anxiety.

Joe Barry has a number of ways to deal with this but one of the simplest and most revealing things he pointed out was that if you can remove this fear you can stop the problem. Instead of constantly trying to resist you can instead actively try and have an attack. But it is always impossible…you cannot just wish for it. So when you stop fearing it then the power leaves you. This may not be immediate but it is the start of dealing with the problem.

This is just the start of how to overcome panic attacks and it can actually be an exciting journey because when you know you can quickly defuse any panic attack your confidence will start to grow. It is such an incredible feeling knowing you can live your life without that anxiety existing and I believe it is possible for anyone to overcome.
